"One time while riding the train from Hyderabad to Mumbai. I was with my mom and we were happily sitting and chatting. Soon, I felt as if someone is staring at me and I looked up to realize that there was a guy dressed in army uniform, standing near the train door and staring at me. When, I looked at him he pointed downwards and he had his penis hanging out of his pant zipper. I couldn't do anything, I froze. I didn't know how to react. All I could do was tell my mom to change seats"
I am a very strong headed girl but I didn't know how to react at that moment. A person who is in uniform and representing our country can stoop so low, then what is the point of shouting 'bharat mata ki jai' from roof tops when you are not even respecting the women in your country. That day onwards, I was no longer patriotic. I felt disgusted and shameful to live in such a country, which boasts of it's values, ethics and culture. The people who give lectures on culture and values are the same ones who do such disgusting stuff behind closed doors, they will objectify women in all possible ways. So, why this hue and cry over morals and ethics?
I have several such stories and people who are making fun of women who are standing up. Well, I just have to slow clap for you because if we as women come out in full force describing each and every incident we have faced, men themselves will be disgusted at themselves and will not be able to handle it. We have faced it, while you just have to listen to it and you can't even do that?
If one truly is so culturally moral it should begin at the base level of treating women as human beings and not as objects. #metoo
